Terry received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law in 1970 and then served in the Office of the Regional Counsel, Internal Revenue Service from 1971 until 1976 before joining the firm. Terry's practice includes tax law,* federal estate taxation** and corporate law.** He enjoys helping clients minimize their tax burdens by presenting all the possible scenarios and recommending a sound legal solution. He is licensed in Texas, the United States District Court, Southern District of Texas, the United States Tax Court, United States Court of Appeals, 5th Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.

Terry served in the United States Air Force Reserve for 29 years and was a Reserve Judge Advocate for the last 23 of those years, retiring in 1993 as a Colonel. His wife, Susan, and he have a daughter and a son, both of whom have graduated from Terry's alma mater, Southern Methodist University. He relaxes from the practice of law by playing golf and hunting.
