Lisa is an Associate Attorney based in the Corpus Christi, Texas office. Prior to pursuing a legal career, Ms. Godwin worked for more than nine (9) years in the human resources field, with emphasis in employee relations, for employers in the retail, transportation, and health care industries. Ms. Godwin received her J.D. degree from the University of Texas School of Law, where she served as editor-in-chief of the Texas Review of Entertainment and Sports Law and successfully participated in moot court competitions, including the Conrad B. Duberstein National Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition held at the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals in New York City. She also interned for a semester at the Texas Supreme Court for former Chief Justice Thomas R. Phillips. She earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the Honors College of the University of Texas at Arlington. She held the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from 1999-2002 and is currently certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). Ms. Godwin is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, the Corpus Christi Human Resource Management Association, as well as the Litigation and Labor and Employment Sections of the American Bar Association and State Bar of Texas, among other organizations. She is also a member of Corpus Christi Bar Association and the Coastal Bend Lawyers Association. Ms. Godwin is active in the Corpus Christi community as a commissioner on the city's Arts and Cultrual Commission, board member for Experiencia De Arte Latino (Experience Latin Art), and a board member for the Corpus Christi Black Chamber of Commerce.

Ms. Godwin is a frequent presenter on labor and employment issues from the management perspective.
